Tomahawks win season opener

Peabody-Burns Junior High boys' basketball team chalked up its first victory of the season Nov. 21 with a 43-15 defeat of the Remington Colts.
PBJH outscored the Colts 12-2 in the first quarter. Jacob Simmonds and Aaron Topham had four points each, while Isaac Hilliard and Seth Alstrom added two points each.
The Tomahawk offense continued to produce points in the second quarter and stretched the lead to 26-6 at the half.
Martin Hofkamp, Sean Jones, and Topham had four points each in the quarter. Isaac Burnett had two points.
Alstrom and Curtis Frederick put up four points each in the third quarter to give the Tomahawks a 34-10 lead.
PBJH scored nine more in the fourth to wrap up the victory. Frederick scored four more points, Alstrom three, and Burnett contributed two more points.
"They gave a great, solid team effort in the first contest of the season," head coach Brian Simmonds said. "The team play on both offense and defense was excellent."
