Tomahawks win at home

Peabody-Burns Junior High School Tomahawks claimed their fourth win of the season Dec. 19 at home against Sedgwick. They defeated the Cardinals, 33-26.
The score was tied 8-8 at the end of the first quarter. Seth Alstrom had four points. Aaron Topham and Brian O'Neal had two each.
Tomahawk offense picked up in the second period, and added 13 points to the board. Topham had six to pace the PBJH squad. Sean Jones had three, Isaac Burnett and Jacob Simmonds added two each. Sedgwick stayed close in the quarter with crucial baskets before halftime. The Tomahawks were up by three at the half, 21-18.
PBJH offense slowed in the third with only four points, two each from Simmonds and Alstrom. Sedgwick put up six and shaved the Tomahawk lead to one, 25-24.
Tomahawk defense held the Cardinals to a basket in the fourth period. Alstrom, Simmonds, Curtis Frederick, and Isaac Hilliard each had two points in the quarter and PBJH claimed the win, 33-26.
The team will take a break until Jan. 5 when they will take on Bennington at home.

The PBJH reserves lost in a close contest to Sedwick, 31-29.
Storm Pickens led the team with nine points. Andrew Sheffler put in four. Caleb Hilliard scored three.
Sean Brunner, Jason Wingert, Dylan Jones, Joseph Lopez, and Clint Jones each added two.
Abe Eldridge, Jordan Riggs, and Sheldon Wiebe each added a free throw.
