In the final game of the season, the PBJH Tomahawks defeated Little River at home, 30-6. The team finishes the year with a 3-4 record.
Tomahawk defense held early in the first series to force Little River to punt on fourth down. Storm Pickens blocked the punt and the Tomahawks had good field position to start their first offensive series. However a Tomahawk fumble gave the ball back to the opponent.
Early in the second quarter, Little River put up the first score of the night. The conversion failed, but the Tomahawks trailed 6-0 with 7:23 on the clock.
Tomahawk offense took over the game with the first score coming on the next drive. Pickens connected with Caleb Hilliard with a 51-yard pass play for the touchdown. Hilliard ran the two point conversion and the Tomahawks took the lead 8-6.
Pickens set up the next PBJH score with an interception late in the third quarter. Hilliard passed to David Ryce for a touchdown on a 62-yard pass play. The lead was 14-6 with 1:16 left in the third period.
Pickens earned the next Tomahawk score with 2-yard run. Clint Jones ran for two and the lead was 22-6 with less than five minutes left in the game.
The final score of the evening came on a Jacob Gillet pass completion to Daulton Teaford. Sean Brunner ran for the 2-point conversion. The PBJH Tomahawks ended the season with a win over Little River, 30-6.
"It was a good season," stated head coach Brian Simmonds. "We are grateful to all the people who came to the games and supported our efforts this season."
