Tomahawks post win over Burrton

The Peabody-Burns Tomahawks traveled Thursday to Burrton. With Burrton short on players the teams played an eight-man match-up.

The Tomahawks dominated 56-20.

Nathan Bishop got the Tomahawks off to a quick start with a 42-yard run and the Tomahawks went up 6-0.

Bishop recovered a fumble on Burrton's first possession and put the Tomahawks back on offense. They took to the air with a pass from Duane Unruh to Adam Benson. Unruh scored from the one-yard line. The PAT failed putting the Tomahawks in the lead 12-0.

Trevor Hamm added the next score running 38 yards to the end zone. Bishop added a two-point conversion and the Tomahawks were in control 20-0.

The Tomahawk reserves played throughout the game, coming in and out often.

The Burrton Chargers put up two scores before the half to cut the lead to 20-14. Unruh passed to Hamm for one more PBJH score for a 26-14 lead going into the break.

After the half Unruh intercepted a Charger pass and ran 30 yards for the score. Bishop passed to William Pratt to add two more to bring the score to 34-14.

On the next Burrton possession Jason McClendon intercepted a Burrton pass to give the ball back to the Tomahawks.

Bishop threw a three-yard pass to William Pratt for another Tomahawk score. Bishop also added two more, 42-14.

Jonathan Christian recovered yet another Burrton fumble to put the PJHS squad back on offense. Brian Wingert ran one yard for the score 48-14.

Burrton scored once more in the fourth quarter to put the score at 48-20. But the Tomahawks also added another with a 32-yard run from Elliott Spechtenhauser. They tacked on two more and the Tomahawks won big, 56-20.
