Tomahawks lose to Solomon

In a non-league contest, the PBJH Tomahawks lost to Solomon Thursday in overtime, 28-22. The team is 2-4 and will play an 8-man match-up Thursday against Little River.
Solomon took the opening kick-off and returned it for a score. They added a two-point conversion and took an early 8-0 lead.
The Tomahawks first possession started at their own 31-yard line. David Ryce capped off the 69-yard drive with an 11-yard run for the touchdown. The two-point conversion failed and the Tomahawks trailed by two, 8-6, with 3:11 left in the first quarter.
Solomon extended their lead with a score at 4:05 in the second quarter. They scored the conversion and took a 16-6 lead.
Solomon attempted an on-side kick on the kick-off and recovered the ball. On the drive. Jordan Riggs recovered a Solomon fumble. Riggs returned the ball 55 yards for the score. Ryce added two and the Tomahawks were down by two, 16-14, with 2:36 left in the half.
Storm Pickens returned the ball on the second half kick-off to set up the PBJH offense on the seven-yard line. Clint Jones finished the short drive with a one-yard run. Ryce added the two point conversion and the Tomahawks took the lead 22-16, with 6:58 left in the third quarter.
Solomon tied the score with less than four minutes left and the contest went into overtime, knotted at 22.
In overtime, both teams were given a chance on offense from the 10-yard line. Neither team was able to reach the end zone in the first two overtime drives. The third overtime period proved successful for Solomon. The Tomahawks lost to Solomon, 28-22.
