Tomahawks lose to Canton-Galva Eagles
Peabody-Burns Junior High boys' basketball team traveled Thursday to Canton-Galva and were defeated, 34-24.
The Tomahawks took a three-point lead in the first quarter, 10-7. Jacob Simmonds led the team with six points. Seth Alstrom and Aaron Topham added two each.
Canton-Galva put pressure on the Tomahawks in the second and held them to just four points. Martin Hofkamp and Topham had a basket each, as PBJH trailed 19-14 at the half.
The defense for both teams was strong in the third quarter. Heading into the fourth Canton-Galva led 27-20. Alstrom, Simmonds and Topham all scored a bucket.
Alstrom added four points in the fourth, but Canton-Galva put in seven to take the 10-point victory.

Reserves
PBJH reserves lost to Canton-Galva Thursday, 37-22. Storm Pickens led the team with 14 points. Caleb Hilliard, Dylan Jones, Sheldon Wiebe, and Joseph Lopez all had two points each.
