Tomahawks fall to Broncos

The Tomahawks traveled to Remington Thursday for the second game of the season. The night was rainy and cool.

The game began with the Tomahawks kicking to Remington. They marched down the field for a touchdown and despite several penalties, went up 6-0.

The Tomahawks turned the ball over on their first play from scrimmage. Remington quickly converted the turnover into six more points and led by the score of 12-0.

The Tomahawks then failed on a fourth down conversion and the Remington team scored on the short field going up to a score of 20-0.

The Tomahawks turned the ball over again in the next series and Remington made them pay with another touchdown and a 26-0 lead.

The Tomahawks got a big play on the kick-off when Cole Welsh returned the ball to the Remington 15-yard line. Two plays later, Trevor Hamm scored on a 16-yard run and put the Tomahawks on the board, trailing 26-6. Remington took the ball and marched down the field to answer and added to their lead, taking a 34-6 lead into the half.

The Peabody team started with the ball after the half, but were forced to punt it away. Remington turned the ball over on downs, but the Tomahawks turned the ball back and Remington converted the turnover into a 40-6 lead.

The Tomahawks got their best drive of the game and marched down the field for a score on a 3-yard plunge by Cole Welsh.

The Tomahawk defense stopped Remington on downs and made a short drive before giving the ball back to Remington on downs.

Remington ran the clock out for a 40-12 victory and the Tomahawks drop to 1-1 on the season. They play Burton at home this Thursday in an 8-man game.
