Tomahawks defeat Moundridge
Peabody-Burns Junior High boys' basketball team traveled Thursday to Moundridge and left with a 27-24 victory.
Both teams played good defense in the first quarter to keep the score close. PBJH missed several key shots early and trailed 7-4 after the first.
Isaac Hilliard and Jacob Simmonds had two points each.
Aaron Topham had six points in the second quarter and Simmonds added two more to put the Tomahawks within one at the half, 13-12.
The teams both poured in eight points in the third to keep it a one-point game heading into the final frame.
Seth Alstrom and Simmonds had three points each while Brian O'Neal had two points.
The PBJH offense took the early lead in the fourth. Moundridge missed a last second three-point attempt and the Tomahawks took the game. Alstrom had six and Sean Jones had one in the period.
At 3-1 the Tomahawks played Monday and don't take the court again until after break.
