Tomahawks beat Moundridge

PBJH football opened the season with a road win against Moundridge. The Tomahawks defeated the Wildcats, 20-6. The squad will take on Canton-Galva at home Thursday.

PBJH defense held strong early in the contest with Moundridge forcing two punts on the Cats' first two drives. Tomahawk offense turned the ball over on an intercepted pass, but then put together a second drive for the first score of the contest. Caleb Hilliard ran 42 yards to the end zone. The two-point conversion failed, but the Tomahawks took a 6-0 lead.

The next scoring opportunity came late in the half when the Tomahawks went into a hurry-up offense. Storm Pickens scored on a 15-yard run. Pickens hit Trevor Foth for the two extra points and the lead was 14-0 at the half.

Pickens came out after the half and ran 58 yards for the final Tomahawk score of the game. The score early in the third period was 20-0.

Moundridge scored on the Tomahawks once in the second half to make the final score 20-6.
