Third selection made in block party competition
Judges for Peabody economic development committee's block party has designated the 300 block of Locust as the third winner in the beautification contest.
People who live on both sides of the street in that block will be the recipients of a barbecue on Aug. 4, compliments of Peabody economic development.
Judging for the final block party will take place Aug. 11-17, with the picnic dinner for that winner on August 31.
Criteria for judging is as follows: grass mowed, lawn neat and clean; bushes and trees trimmed; no appliances, junk, or debris in yards; clean curbs and gutters; no nuisance conditions; OR most improved in all of the above categories.
