Things to be thankful for
By KRISTEN N. HOOPER
Director, Peabody Main Street Association
Thanksgiving has come and gone. I am sure everyone had lots of wonderful food and over- indulged with pie again this year. I think we all can agree: one thing to be thankful for is sweatpants.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all that we have and have been given. This really isn't the time of year when we reflect on what we have given to others or contributed to the community
As the Main Street Director I am fortunate to work with various community groups, community leaders, and volunteers. In my position I see the time, effort, and commitment that many people put into the community throughout the year. This may be through city council, Main Street, church groups, school board, or other community groups. The list is endless. People invest more than just time. People contribute resources, supplies, labor, and most importantly, themselves.
Peabody Main Street Association has been back on the upswing lately, which only can be attributed to the outstanding commitment of the community and the supporters of the program. The association would like to thank all of the supporters, past and present, residents, and alumni. It is only through your support that this organization has been able to continue to grow throughout the 18 years we have been a designated Main Street Community.
This Thanksgiving everyone should take time to reflect on all that we have been given, but please take a moment to reflect on all that you have given and the difference that it has made because YOU have made a difference. Peabody Main Street Association is thankful for all the support it received and appreciates your continued support through the end of 2007 and in 2008.
