Thelma Giles
Thelma A. Giles, 87, died April 23, 2003, at Peabody.
Born Aug. 12, 1915, in Wright County, Mo., she was the daughter of Eli and Nancy (Branson) Butts.
On June 20, 1933, she married James H. Giles at Newton. He died in 1982.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Eli Giles; brother, Delmire Butts; and sister Cleato Sole.
Survivors include four sisters, Veleda Seguine of Shawnee, Elsie LaGree and Esther Ream of Newton, and Edna Oursler of Peabody; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Pohlman of Peabody Christian Church officiating.
Burial was in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
