Teen arrested after crashing into garage

A juvenile driver was arrested Sunday by Marion Police Officers for reckless driving, fleeing and eluding police officers, and driving under the influence after an officer attempted to stop the driver for reckless driving in the area of the 100 block of South Fourth Street.

The driver fled police and eventually ran into the side of a garage in the 400 block of North Fourth Street.

Aug. 22: Assistance was provided to an ambulance crew with a run. A motorist with a stalled vehicle was assisted in the 300 block of South Coble. An officer responded to a business alarm; everything was OK. A vehicle that had been swept off a roadway two miles west of Marion on 190th received assistance from officers and sheriff's deputies.

Tuesday: A telephone harassment complaint was investigated. An investigation of an aggravated burglary was conducted. An officer was at Park City to follow-up on a case. Response was made to a 911 hang-up in the 200 block of Garfield Street; everything was OK. A sheriff's deputy received backup on a domestic disturbance call on Remington Road.

Wednesday: A citation was issued to a minor for possession of tobacco products. A reckless driving citation was issued to an individual whose vehicle left ruts in Central Park. Officers provided storm watch. An ambulance crew received assistance on a call. Response was given to a verbal argument in the 300 block of South Third Street

Thursday: A trespassing complaint was investigated. Officers responded to a fire reported in the 1000 block of Sherman Street; no fire was located. A business alarm was checked; everything was OK.

Friday: A follow-up investigation was conducted on an assault case. A welfare check was conducted on children whose parent was out-of-town. A warning was issued for improper child restraint.

Saturday: A suspicious subject was checked in the 600 block of East Main Street A vehicle was sought for a gas skip in Hillsboro. A junk vehicle complaint was investigated.

Sunday: An officer met with an individual who was riding a go-cart in the area of Miller and Third streets; the individual was warned not to ride in the street.

Officers drove 962 miles, and issued two citations, two warnings, and made one arrest.
