Tampa news: Birthdays celebrated at Kerbs home

Glenn and Eloise Kerbs of Dodge City and Clayton and Leah Kerbs of Omaha, Neb., were Saturday overnight guests of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs. Additional Sunday dinner guests were Reuben and Cristy Kerbs of Wichita, Tim and Marchelle Kerbs, April Kerbs, and Nick Reynolds of Salina, Molly Kerbs of Hays, Doug and Connie Thompson and Taylor of Abilene, and Russ Kerbs and Rustyn. Ashton Smith joined them in the afternoon. The birthdays of Connie and Reuben were celebrated with birthday cake and ice cream. Allison Phillips, Jesse Smith, and Julie Kerbs were unable to be present.

Dinner guests Sunday of Phyllis Mueller and Rod Mueller were Lawrence and Ruth Mueller of Iola, Ed and Alice Winter and Sharon Mueller of Hillsboro, Warren and Paula Fike of Ramona, Maxine Mueller, Edna Mueller, and Mel Epling. The occasion was a belated Christmas celebration.

Margaret Jirak and Adeline Bernhardt attended the Marion County Senior Citizens board meeting Jan. 20 at Marion.

Many Tampa people attended the Centre High School homecoming Friday evening. Krista Heiser was crowned queen and Bryant Gutsch, king. Attendants were Jackie Klenda, Katie Carlson, Drew Donahue, and Brent Potocnik.

Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt enjoyed dinner out Wednesday at Hillsboro.

Martha Melcher, Tillie Hein, and Sean Leihy accompanied Tom and Dee Duggan Sunday evening to Herington for the card party at the Catholic parish hall.

Greg Sklenar of Wichita and Valerie Hampton of Hillsboro were Sunday dinner guests of their mother, Lois Sklenar.

Gary Spohn and Georgia Spohn went Monday afternoon to Marion for visitation at the funeral home for their cousin, Lee Beaston.

Russ Kerbs took Reuben and Lucille Kerbs out Friday morning for breakfast to celebrate Reuben's birthday.

Tom Duggan visited Saturday morning with Everett and Rhea Kolling at Herington.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs met their grandson, Reuben Kerbs of Wichita, Thursday at Durham and took him out for dinner. Later they attended the Centre Junior High basketball game to see Rustyn Kerbs play. Also cheering him on were Ashton Smith of Salina and Russ and Julie Kerbs.

Kaylee Hall of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan attended the homecoming game Friday evening at Centre.
