Swimming lessons begin next week

Children will be able to sign up for swimming lessons this week at the city pool. Pre-registration is required and must be done at least seven days before the start of the session in which the child intends to enroll.

Appropriate ability levels will be determined by pool personnel to ensure the child is in the class best suited to his ability.

There will be three regular sessions of lessons and one preschool session. All regular sessions will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday each week. Preschool session, also from Monday through Thursday, will run from 6 to 7 p.m.

First session of lessons will be June 14-17 and June 21-24.

Priority in this session will be given to children from Potwin and Whitewater.

Second session will be June 28 to July 1 and July 5-8 with priority given to those from Peabody.

Final session will be July 12-15 and July 19-22 with priority given to youngsters from Burns.

The single preschool session will be July 26-29 for three-, four-, and five-year-olds. A parent or adult must attend with each child and be available to assist.

Classes in all sessions will be filled on a first come, first served basis. A fee of $17 will be charged for students in USD 398 school district and $20 for students outside the district.
