Swimmers take second in league

Peabody Super Swimmers were edged out of a league win July 6 at the league meet. The long day of competition ended with a second place finish for the team, losing by two points to the Council Grove swim club.
The boys on the team pulled 211 points while the girls added 94 to the total. Nine teams competed.
Coach Laura Williams was pleased with the the team's performance.
"It was a long, hot day and our swimmers swam hard," she said. "We had a couple of unexpected things happen and that made the difference."
"The kids should be very proud of their efforts this season. I hope they keep working on their technical skills the rest of the summer."
