Special milestone reached by Warren and Letha Hughes
There will be a special milestone celebrated Sunday when the 60th wedding anniversary of Warren and Letha Hughes of Peabody is observed.
The Hughes will celebrate their special day with a catered family meal. A professional photographer will take family pictures.
Warren and Letha had but one request for a gift, and that was to have their entire immediate family home for the special day.
The celebration is being hosted by their four children and their families, Warren D. and Juanita Hughes of Emporia, Jack and Chris (McClure) Hughes of Palmer, Alaska, Carolyn (Hughes Grossnickle) Anderson of Peabody, and Mark and Lynn (Jones) Hughes of Carney, Okla.
Assisting their parents fete their grandparents are Jacque Williams, Beth Hughes, and Warren D. and Leilani Hughes of Tulsa; and Lynn and Anna Moore of Ponca City, Okla., Trig and Trisha (Hughes) Whitmer, Eden Prairie, Minn., Sean and Tracy (Hughes) Tracy, Washington, D.C., Cory Hughes, Colorado Springs, Colo., Derek Hughes, Stillwater, Okla., Tim and Kimberly (Grossnickle) Anderson, Groover, Texas, Tom Grossnickle of Wichita, and Chauncy and A. L. Connor Hughes, Carney, Okla.
Great-grandchildren, who will be present for the event, are Michael and Serena Williams and Noel Hughes, Tulsa, Okla.; Tianna and Toran Whitmer, Eden Prairie, Minn.; Taylor and Luke Tracy, Washington, D. C.; and Taos, Rayel, Kaycee, and Reed Anderson, Groover, Texas.
A public reception will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Coneburg Inn in Peabody.
The couple requests there be no gifts. (They mean no offense, but they say their walls are full and every knickknack space is taken — and they would rather be gardening or camping than dusting.)
