Small towns, big hearts

To the Editor:

I was encouraged to see in recent publications that the city is prepared to enforce ordinances pertaining to the image of our community. It is not uncommon for us to hear about negative first impressions of our community from people considering relocation to Hillsboro.

I am well aware that not everyone is able to remodel their home or even to re-landscape their yards to make them more attractive. There are, however, things that anyone can do to present their property as attractive as possible. For the city to recognize this need and to be prepared to do what it can to present our community in the best light is encouraging.

We have a great community by almost any definition. I am pleased that there is a commitment to have our properties match the overall quality of life here.
