Shirley Ann Hadley

Shirley Ann Hadley, 79, died peacefully in her sleep Dec. 10, 2006, in Andover.

Born and raised in Peabody, Shirley graduated from Peabody High School with the class of 1945. She then attended Wichita State University.

She married Fred Hadley in 1949.

She worked as an insurance underwriter for 30 years at R.B. Jones Insurance and later at Anderson & Anderson Insurance.

Shirley's passions were reading popular fiction and non-fiction, keeping informed on national and world politics, gardening tending plants, listening to Frank Sinatra and Kenny G, and various cultural activities.

He friendly and outgoing nature and brave spirit will be sorely missed.

"Now she has come home, to lie beneath the bright stars, in this comely land where she lived as a young girl where she shall surely find peace."

Survivors include son, Chris (Frances) of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Bill and Bob of Wichita and Jack of North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael and Nicole; and great-grandchildren, all of Northwest, Ark.

Her cremains were interred without ceremony Jan. 3 at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
