Seniors host county board meeting

Burns Senior Citizens hosted the Marion County board meeting Friday at the new Burns Community Building. There were 50 in attendance for an interesting meeting and a bountiful meal. Noreen Weems, county director, was honored with a birthday cake baked by LaVonne Ammeter and ice cream.

Lois Sayers went to Winfield Saturday to attend the fourth wedding anniversary observance of her cousins Robert and Charlotte Skinner.

Al and Bonnie Plummer drove to Norton and brought Bonnie's mother Florence Lambert to their home for a few days visit.

Shelby Plummer, certified amateur umpire, spent all day Saturday and Sunday morning umpiring ball games at McPherson.

Marvin and Sherol Nightengale called on Don and Twyla Nightengale in Florence Thursday evening. They and Laura and Casey Nightengale of El Dorado went to Kearney, Mo., Friday evening to the home of Jim and Linda Hess, Allie and Amelia. They watched Allie play soccer Saturday and Sunday and returned home Sunday evening.

Joyce Kyle picked up LaVonne Ammeter Saturday evening and they, along with several other relatives and friends, enjoyed a birthday party for Bayleigh Clark at the home of Mack and Shayla Clark, Hadlye and Morgan. Homemade ice cream and cake were served.

Sunday dinner guests of Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie, Dalen, and Carolee were Steven and Susan Kahn and family of Cimarron, Vernon and Florine Koehn and Judy, Marvin and Berth Koehn, and Loretta and Luana Isaac. Susan is a daughter of Marvin and Irma Koehn, formerly of Burns, a brother of Vernon and sister of Florine.
