Senior center receives mystery gift

When officers of Peabody Senior Center met for their monthly meeting Feb. 10, they were informed the center was in receipt of an anonymous gift.

A mystery cross-stitch quilt top had been given to the senior center. Discussion was held on how best to use the gift once it was quilted. No decision was made.

Monthly reports were given by president Pat Henderson, secretary Sally Matz, and treasurer Arlene Unruh. Five hundred and two pounds of peppernuts were reported made for the fund-raising project. Donations to the center in Margaret Jewell's memory were reported.

Council decided to reduce the thermostat setting to 60 degrees when the center is closed. February birthday dinner was announced for Feb. 22.
