Senior center gets donation from Kiwanis for roof repairs

It was announced at the March 17 meeting of the board of directors of Peabody Senior Center that Peabody Kiwanis has made a $500 contribution to help with the roof repairs to the center. It also was announced that the Main Street design committee would meet to begin the process of determining facade renovation and roof reports.

Following the opening prayer, reports were given by the secretary and treasurer. Updates were noted of the condition of those on the sick list.

It was brought to the board's attention that a thorough overhaul of the senior center's bus needs to be done. No decision was made.

The monthly birthday luncheon will be March 27. Speaker will be Rick Turner, who has purchased Jim's Jack and Jill. Turner will tell his plans for the store after he takes possession.

Susan Mayo, accompanied by Edna Andres, furnished a musical program for the March 18 covered dish dinner.

Seniors were reminded of the commodity distribution on March 19.
