Second graders visit Legacy Park
Peabody-Burns Elementary School second grade class went this past Tuesday to Legacy Park for their final visit of the school year. Students have enjoyed monthly visits, forming friendships and bonds.
As a special farewell gift, each child gave residents a card they made. They then created a vase by coloring a Styrofoam cup, had the residents pick a color of marigold they would like, then planted it together.
The second graders will greatly miss seeing the residents over the summer. Teacher Emily Bowlin says she will continue the visits next year with whichever grade she teaches.
