School concession building burglarized this past weekend

Peabody police chief Bruce Burke has reported the investigation of a burglary and criminal damage to property at Peabody-Burns High School concession building and press box at Peabody City Park.

"Sometime between midnight Saturday night and late afternoon Sunday, the building was broken into," said Burke.

A window on the north side was broken and the door was kicked in. The crime was discovered Sunday and is under investigation. No dollar amounts were available regarding either the burglary or damage to the building.

Police worked a non-injury accident May 14 when the stop sign at Ninth and Walnut streets was struck by a car. The sign needed to be reinstalled.

Officers also are investigating a battery incident at Westview Manor.
