Scharenberg presents program for seniors

The Florentines met at the senior center Aug. 8 for their monthly luncheon meeting. Dr. Dennis Scharenberg of Hillsboro presented a program on pain. Those in attendance were Loren and Mildred Cox and Cecil Rotz of Newton, LaDonna Westhafer of Marion, Roger Giesbrecht, Lenora Graham, Virginia Learned, Elsie Tittle, Bob Madsen, Roseva McLinden, and Estelle McCarty.
Twylah Nightengale and Charla Wheeler of Marion were in Wichita Tuesday and had lunch together.
Estelle McCarty and Randi McCarty ate lunch in Newton Tuesday and attended a movie.
Tim and Janette Parmley attended the men's softball tournament at Tampa over the weekend. Mary Jane Grimmett also attended and had supper with Justin and Rachelle Grimmett of Clay Center in Marion Saturday evening after the games.
Twylah Nightengale accompanied Berneda Jewell of Manhattan and Fern Goodwin of Burns to Newton Thursday. They met their other sisters, Julie Stuckey and Emmy Midkiff of Newton and Beulah Goering of Moundridge and had lunch together.
Lenora Graham visited Mildred Graham in Cottonwood Falls Sunday afternoon.
Friday evening visitors of Don and Twylah Nightengale were Richard and Dolores Mann of Cedar Point. Saturday visitors were Harold and Shirley Grinstead.
Beki Zook was a Friday overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Dane Martin and Alexander in Lawrence. They visited the Dole Institute of Politics on the University of Kansas campus on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Weber of Cedar Point and Paulette Zook attended Beki Zook's coed softball game in Newton Tuesday evening.
