Saturday will be a busy day in Peabody

Peabody Main Street, lighting committee, Fourth Fest Society, PBHS, and Peabody businesses have teamed up to prepare a fun day of food, shopping, and entertainment for the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

As a reminder, anyone who is interested in participating in the parade should contact Joanna Brazil at the city office. This year's theme is "Winter Wonderland," and begins at 5 p.m. at the city building.

Youth activities

For parents who want to have some time to shop, we have a deal for you. Enroll your kids in an afternoon of making crafts, eating snacks, and getting pictures with Santa.

The children's workshop lasts from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Peabody Township Library. The cost is $15 for one child and $5 for each additional child and includes a gingerbread house, two holiday crafts, snacks, and one picture with Santa per family. If each child wants a picture with Santa the cost is an additional $10 per child.

For every $10 spent in Peabody businesses Saturday morning, parents will receive a dollar off the children's workshop fee.

Pre-registration is required as space and supplies are limited. Contact Joanna Brazil at 983-23174, evenings 983-9251.

Pictures with Santa

For those who wish to be photographed with the jolly old man, pictures will be taken before the parade from 1 to 3 p.m. at A Little Off the Top downtown. Pictures cost $10 and include one 5x7 photo and four wallets. For those who just want to chat with Santa, he will be available to visit with youngsters following the parade at A Little Off the Top.
