Samuel Roberts
Samuel F. Roberts, 88, Cedar Point, died May 19, 2008, at Via Christi Medical Center, St. Francis campus, Wichita.
Born June 9, 1919, at Strong City, he was the son of Thomas and Doris (Langandorf) Roberts.
On Feb. 13, 1939, he married Irma Smith at Cottonwood Falls.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for more than 30 years, retiring as a road master in 1979, at Dodge City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Joyce Ann Cummings; sister, Doris Roberta Cowley; and half-sister, Eva Evans.
Survivors include his wife, Irma of Cedar Point; son, Samuel "Rick" Roberts of Cedar Point; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this morning (Wednesday) at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls, with Pastor David Gass officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Strong City Cemetery, Strong City.
