Roy Carter

Roy B. Carter Jr., 83, Whitewater, died Jan. 5, 2003, at Newton.

He was a retired auto body mechanic.

Born Nov. 17, 1919, at Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Roy B. Carter Sr. and Pauline (Roberts) Carter.

He was married to Wilma Cornelius March 8, 1946, at Lagerstown, Md. She survives.

He was a veteran of World War II. During his career he worked for Grindt Motors, Reznik Motors, and Hesston Corporation.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma, Whitewater; son, Bruce Carter, Peabody; daughters, Sharon Albert of Branson, Mo., and Jean Long of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Julia Ferro, Martingsburg, W.Va.; and one grandchild.

Services were held today, Wednesday, at Brainerd Cemetery near Whitewater.

Memorial funds have been established in his name at First Baptist Church, Peabody; Central Hospice, Newton; and First Methodist Church, Newton.
