Rider wants items returned

To the Editor:

I have tried to send several e-mails to several people in Peabody but for some reason none of them go through. I am sending you this to vent out some of my frustrations.

On the 4th of July, my wife and kids and grandkids came to Peabody for your celebration. My wife and I rode in the parade with the American Legion Riders.

After the parade we all met at the park to look around and wait for the fireworks. When it started to rain we decided we had better head home to McPherson before it got any worse.

I had parked my motorcycle a block and a half away from the park. When we got back to the bike we discovered that someone had opened up one of the saddlebags and taken my jacket, my hat, my aluminum telescopic flag pole and my AMERICAN FLAG.

The jacket is black with orange sleeves and the cap is a black leather Ivy-style cap.

My wife and I have traveled all over the state of Kansas for parades, for soldiers' funerals, soldiers' homecomings and departures.

We have never had anything taken and have not heard of anybody else ever having anything taken.

If anybody happens to find these items I would appreciate it if they would turn them into the police or take them to the American Legion so I could get them back.
