Rhea M. Astle
Rhea M. Astle, 98, died Jan. 27, 2006, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.
Born Nov. 14, 1907, at Emporia, she was the daughter of Dr. Tom and Dell Lind.
She was a former fifth grade teacher in Peabody and wife of W.P. "Buck" Astle, who was the Moltn implement dealer and head football coach for two years during the 1940s.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Astle of Orange, Conn., and Dr. John R. Astle of Fort Collins, Colo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday morning at Laurel Cemetery, Haven, with the Rev. Nathan Morgan officiating.
