Relief items sought for victims of December tsunami
Sunday school classes at Zion Mennonite Church at Elbing are collecting relief items to send to tsunami victims.
Items collected will be sent to areas devastated by the tsunami that struck Dec. 26 in the Indian Ocean. Mennonite Central Committee will take care of transporting the items collected.
Each relief box will hold the following items in the number indicated: four bars of soap, one bottle shampoo (15 to 24 oz., put in ziplock bag); four cups laundry detergent (put in ziplock bag and labeled); four adult toothbrushes; toothpaste; four bath towels (dark color); one hairbrush; one large tooth comb; one fingernail clipper; Band-Aids; and sanitary napkins.
It is not necessary for each donor to give all the items listed.
Anyone interested in contributing to the drive may drop donations prior to Feb. 23 at Jackrabbit Hollow in Peabody.
