Reimer fund raiser is a success
A potluck soup supper to benefit the family of Jacob Reimer was held Saturday evening in Burns. Reimer died in December in an automobile accident south of Burns, leaving a wife and five children.
The supper, sponsored by the Community National Bank and the Mary Martha Society of the First Mennonite Church, both in Burns, drew a crowd of about 180. People from Burns, Peabody, and Whitewater, and family members from Oklahoma kept the tables full during the evening.
Admission was by donation and the event raised more than $2,000 for the Reimer family.
A trust fund has been established at the Community National Bank in Burns, and donations can be made at any time to the Getruda Reimer Family Trust in care of the bank.
