Staff writer

PBHS Warriors made a good showing against the Burrton Chargers, the last game of their regular season. While the Warriors lost, 54-50, the game was well played and it was a good finish for the Warriors. They ended up 7-13 overall, 5-8 in the league, and 10th in the standings of the Heart of America League.

The Warriors will play in the first round of sub-state Monday with the site and opponent undetermined at press time.

The Warriors played good defense and five of them put points on the board, led by Brennan Commerford with four. The team was down by seven at the end of the first, 20 to 13.

The Warriors closed the gap throughout the second period. Fast hands on defense held the Chargers to 10 in the quarter and the Warriors were down 30-26 at the half.

It was a terrible third quarter with only two Warrior points scored by Adam Jones. The Chargers added 12 and the deficit was 14, 42-28, at the end of the period.

Offense picked up in the fourth with the Warriors putting up 22 points. Caleb Good, Nick Conquest, and Philip Unruh hit big free throws in the period.

The Warriors closed the gap to two several times, but the Chargers shot well from the free throw line to keep the game just out of reach.
