Rainfall causes flooding in low-lying areas
Drenching rains fell Thursday, filling area ponds, streams, rivers, and lakes.
Two to six inches of rain was reported around Marion County causing a flood warning to be issued Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.
The ground, somewhat saturated from previous snowfalls, caused runoff of water to fields, streams, and some roadways.
For a 12-to 24-hour period, water flowed rapidly through low areas causing some roads in the county to be closed.
The waters began receding Friday afternoon in most areas of the county. By Monday, everything was back to normal and a little greener.
