Rain shortens season for Warriors
Marion-Florence/Peabody-Burns baseball team didn't have a lot to smile aboue this season, but in the second-to-last doubleheader of the season it finally did.
A six-run inning propelled the Warriors past rival Hillsboro for their only victory of the season.
With multiple games rained out and not made-up, the Warriors head into regionals with just one victory, but a clean slate like everyone else.
MFPB will play either Monday or Tuesday in the Augusta regional. Some regional sites carry the entire touranment, where others have the first round game played at the site of the team with the better seed.
The Warriors must play in a 4A regional due to the combining of school with Peabody-Burns.
