Rain extends season for Peabody Farmers Market

Recent rains have enabled vendors to continue offering garden produce, as well as baked goods, at the Farmers' Market each Saturday morning.

Tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, sweet, basil and other herbs, onions, and beets were Saturday's offerings. Next Saturday should again bring bountiful crops.

On the Saturday of Labor Day weekend some vendors will feature craft items in addition to their regular fare. The crafts are made by the vendors and are not the mass production type found in some markets.

The Doyle Valley Grower's market will be open until Sept. 7, weather permitting.

The group is planning a special dinner for the members. It will be catered by Arletta Koehn and held at the home of Frances and Marilyn Payne at 6 p.m. Sept. 21. The dinner is a reward for the hard work involved in providing the market every Saturday morning.
