Radio station pays to complete Woodruff playhouse

While eight-year old Bailey Woodruff was visiting her grandparents Frank and Janice Woodruff in Peabody last week, she got a special gift from a friend of her father's.

Donna Hague handed Bailey a check Thanksgiving afternoon. The check, from KFDI radio in Wichita, was meant to help Bailey get her play house completed.

Bailey's dad Mike lost his battle with cancer in September. At one point during his illness he commented to some friends, Hague among them, that he regretted never having had the time to finish Bailey's playhouse.

After his death Hague heard of a program sponsored by KFDI called "KFDI is gonna' pay your bills." Listeners were invited to send their names and the bills they wanted paid to the radio station.

Hague sent Bailey's name in with a letter of explanation and the radio station selected Bailey to receive enough money to pay for completion of the playhouse.

The station also passed along a note and cash from an anonymous listener who heard Hague's letter on the radio station. His note said he thought Bailey should have a set of dishes for her playhouse and enclosed the cash to buy it. The note was signed by an "Unknown Trucker."
