Quilt project is community fund-raising effort
Peabody Community Quilt Project is a community service fundraising effort, sponsored by Victorian Revival Society in association with the Peabody Main Street design committee.
In support of the project, an all day quilt school will be offered Jan. 22 in the multi-purpose room of Peabody Elementary School. The morning session begins at 9 a.m. and will resume in the afternoon and last until 4 p.m. or until all material is covered.
The project also is looking for individuals or groups who are willing to sponsor a quilt for the upcoming quilt auction. Sponsors agree to pay for materials for quilting and materials for a selected project. Donations on a smaller scale are welcome. Those funds will be used for incidental costs such as providing on-site lunch for volunteers or advertising. Quilts may be sponsored as a memorial to a loved one. Sponsorship will be noted on the quilt label and in the auction catalog.
