Put no more thought into it

By KRISTEN HOOPER

Wow . . . it is already the middle of September. It is unbelievable how fast this year has gone by. Summer has come and gone and now it is time to start thinking about fall and soon thereafter, the holidays. It seems silly to be thinking about Christmas this time of year but time flies and you don't want to be caught without the perfect gift.

In case you are having trouble the 2006 11th edition of the Peabody Christmas ornaments has arrived. This edition shows the east side of our historic downtown district.

If you are missing a year in your collection Main Street still has inventory of every year, 1996-2006, except for the 2001 sixth edition Morgan House bulb. It is sold out.

These ornaments capture buildings or events which help to make Peabody unique one ornament at a time. The ornaments may be purchased at the city office, Peabody State Bank, Jackrabbit Hollow, Mayesville Mercantile, and Don's Drug Store and are $12 each. The ornaments are the perfect accent to any tree.

Main Street also offers other options for great gift ideas. Peabody note cards may be purchased for $6. This includes eight blank note cards with envelopes. The note cards have illustrations of four different Peabody buildings: the elementary school, the Santa Fe depot, the bank building, and the Kansas first free library. These items may be purchased at the city building, Jackrabbit Hollow, Peabody State Bank, and Don's Drugs.

Another option is the ceramic mug with a picture of the former Peabody High School on it. Your favorite coffee or hot cocoa drinker will appreciate it. This ceramic mug is only $6 and may be purchased at the city building. Quantity is limited so don't wait until the last minute.

Now that the holidays are approaching, don't fret. Put no more thought into it. You can't go wrong with Peabody memorabilia.
