PRIDE complimented on new welcome flags

At a recent meeting Florence PRIDE Committee members reported they had received numerous positive comments on the recent purchase of 25 welcome flags. They were flown on Main Street during Memorial Day weekend to welcome visitors and returning Florence graduates who were attending the Saturday evening alumni banquet.

Eighteen flower planters have been placed on Main Street in front of area businesses. The planters were built by volunteers and were constructed of old barnwood and tin taken from a barn donated by the McLinden family of Florence. The PRIDE committee purchased and planted flowers in all the planters. Plans are to make trash can holders to match the planters.
