President's report: It's crunch time

By STEVE HAMOUS

PMSA President

We are down to crunch time. The memorabilia auction is coming up the end of this month at Peabody American Legion.

Only the date has been changed to protect the innocent. We moved it from the previously advertised date of Feb. 19 to Feb. 26 due to circumstances beyond our control.

Everything is now set for a most enjoyable evening. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and the auction is set for 7 p.m.

The dinner is a cook-your-own steak affair, with a salad and baked potato bar. You do not need to attend the dinner to go to the auction.

Some people may not realize the importance of this evening. The auction is the main source of funding for the Main Street program.

We are looking at several major projects this year that will require dollars to accomplish. You have been most generous in the past, and we hope we can count on you to help us again this year.

Donations of auction items continue to come in. We will accept auction items up to the day of the event. We also will accept pictures of dead presidents (cash money) if you wish.

Several valued donors even contribute if they cannot attend the auction. I want to thank them in advance for their support.

Peabody Main Street is a 501(C)3 not-for-profit organization, so your donations are tax deductible.

See you on the 26th. Bid early and often. Bid up your neighbor. Expect to have a great time!
