Preheims honored as Banker Award winners

James and Gladys Preheim of Peabody will receive a Bankers Award Saturday at the Marion County Conservation District annual banquet.

"Stewardship of the soil has been an important concept in our lives," James said. "It is our goal to leave it better than we found it."

They have worked steadily over the years to apply conservation measures to their farm.

They have installed 43.5 acres of waterways, 135,416 feet of terraces, 1.659 feet of diversion terraces, 4,510 feet of pipe for tile outlets, one concrete structure, and several CRP filter strips.
