Pool trespasser flees without clothing

Peabody police interrupted an early morning swim Friday at Peabody city pool.

Three juveniles had climbed the fence and were swimming in the pool when they were discovered by police.

The juveniles fled the scene, but police were able to seize the clothing belonging to one of them before they ran.

"That kid went home buck naked," said Peabody Police Chief Jeff Pohlman.

"We don't like kids going over the fence to swim like that," Pohlman added. "It's just plain dangerous. No one has ever been hurt, but we've been lucky."

The case is under investigation and the juveniles will be charged with criminal trespass if apprehended.

In another incident involving a young person, police arrested a juvenile Sunday for battery at his home. The juvenile hit a victim in the face and was subsequently taken from the home. The juvenile has not been returned home and charges are pending.
