Pool opens Memorial Day
City workers are finishing preparations at the Peabody pool, getting ready for Memorial Day opening. The pool will open at 1 p.m. Monday.
Deanna Baker will be pool manager again. Regular hours will be 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The pool is available for private parties. For information contact Baker at 983-2801.
Peabody-Burns Recreation Commission has arranged for free swim days June 15 and July 22. Anyone who resides in the Peabody-Burns school district will be admitted to the pool at no charge.
Family swim nights have been scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 11, June 25, July 9, and July 23. At least one parent/guardian or grandparent must accompany and remain with the children being admitted to the pool. No admission will be charged on family swim nights.
General admission is $1.50 for children six to 16, and $2 for those 17 and older. Children five and younger are admitted free with a paying adult.
Season passes are available at the pool for children, adults, and families.
Swimming lessons, adult water aerobics, and swim teams for youngsters eight to 18 also are available. Contact the pool (983-2801) for more information.
