Police reports
Marion Police Department received the following reports.
Battery — JoAnna McGinness, 509 N. Freeborn, Marion, told Sergeant G.L. Klose that an individual grabbed her arms and shoved her to the floor while trying to get a set of car keys away from her. The alleged incident occurred at 10:30 a.m. June 29 at McGillicuddy's Restaurant, 214 E. Main, Marion.
McGinness also reported that, at 11:20 a.m. the same day, she was at 518 N. Cedar when the suspect grabbed her by the arm and pulled her across the floor, trying to get her to leave a residence and go back to work.
Criminal damage to property — Sometime between 9 and 10 p.m. July 2, an unknown object was used to break out the glass on three storm windows and one storm door at the residence of Michael T. Loomis, 413 S. Fourth, Marion. The suspect also broke the driver's side glass, turn signals, and driver's side headlight on a dump truck and the driver's side mirror on a pickup.
According to Sergeant Klose, the storm windows and door glass were valued at $359, side window on truck at $150, and side mirror on pickup at $85, for a total loss of $594.
Theft — Someone purchased $20.51 in gasoline at Casey's General Store, 1020 E. Main, Marion, and drove off without paying. The incident, which occurred at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, was reported by employee Scott Newfeld to Officer Michel Soyez.
Burglary and theft — Kevin Heyward, 419 N. Lincoln, Marion, an employee of Asplundh Tree Service of Leon, reported that sometime between 7 a.m. June 27 and 8 a.m. July 1, someone removed two chain saws from the toolbox of his employer's pickup while it was parked at Heyward's residence. The Stihl model #019 was valued at $250 and Stihl model #036 at $450, for a total loss of $700. Officer Soyez filed the report.
