Plans move forward for July celebration
The Peabody Fourth Fest committee has announced the theme for this year's celebration is "United We Stand." The 2002 celebration and fireworks show will be the 81st annual July 4th observance for the city of Peabody.
Two button designs have been selected and the buttons are being made up by Gary and Louann Bowlin of Homestead Printing.
Tammy Whiteside and Rose Thomason once again will be in charge of organizing the parade for the celebration. This will be the third consecutive year they have accepted the challenge of rounding up entries and organizing the parade staging area.
The Fourth Fest group also is seeking local and area craft'ers in hopes of drawing enough exhibitors to hold a craft fair in conjunction with the holiday event. Interested individuals should contact Kristi Silvernale at 983-2589.
