Plans continue for Christmas parade

Work continues on planning Peabody's Bells, Boots and Buggies event scheduled for Dec. 8.
The quilt committee is planning to have a handcrafted log cabin quilt available for public viewing and tickets for a drawing to win the quilt will be available at the Memorial Day festivities. Tickets also may be purchased through the Peabody Main Street website.
Proceeds from the quilt drawing will be used exclusively for the purchase of holiday banners for the downtown area.
The banner selection process is currently underway with plans to publish the top three options in the paper sometime in early August and allow a public vote.
