Planning group needs citizen input
Plans for projects that will enhance Peabody will be selected Thursday night at the Strategic Planning session to be held at 7 p.m. in the city building.
Nearly two dozen proposals have been selected, including housing needs, an auditorium/community center, better sidewalks, enhancement of recreation areas, improved community pride, motel/hotel, attracting tourists/new families, better highway signage, school consolidation, and an expanded tax base. These ideas were culled from suggestions offered by Peabody citizens at previous strategic planning meetings.
At Thursday's meeting, participants each will select three proposals they think need to be realized. Based on the voting, the projects will be prioritized and work will begin on implementing the selections.
Anyone from the community is welcome to attend. Selecting these issues is more effective for Peabody if more people are present to help make the choice. Deciding which of the projects to begin first should have wide citizen input.
Anyone with questions about any of the issues should contact Mary Avery at 983-2810 or Joanna Brazil at 983-2174.
