Planning event scheduled to help Peabody accident victim

Rebecca Kasper of rural Peabody was severely injured in late February in an automobile accident on Indigo Road. Kasper's car crossed the center line and collided with a truck. Her left arm was severed in the accident.

Friends of the woman will hold a planning meeting to come up with ideas to raise money to help defray medical bills. In addition to the costs incurred following the accident, Kasper will be fitted for a prosthesis and will need therapy.

Anyone interested in helping raise funds is invited to attend the planning session at 7 p.m. Thursday in the conference room of the Central National Bank in Newton. (Since the meeting will take place after banking hours, participants should enter through the H&R Block entrance at 105 East Broadway).

Individuals who are unable to attend the meeting, but who wish to help or make a contribution are encourged to call Pandy Smith at (316) 282-3485.
