Planning commission

The county's comprehensive plan, and previous continuances of three applications by property owners at Marion County Lake will dominate the agenda for the Marion County Planning Commission/Board of Zoning Appeals' regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28.

The meeting will be at the Marion County Courthouse in Marion.

David Brazil, the county's director of zoning and planning, will present the updated comprehensive plan for the commission's approval or suggestions.

The applications continued from previous meetings of the commission are for:

Willis Peterson, for variances from a required front setback, and side and rear setbacks.

Gordon and Judy Pendergraft, variances from required front and side setbacks.

Edith Graber, variances from requirred rear and side setbacks.

A newer application by Philip Shapel is for a variance from a required setback of 30 feet to one of 20 feet.

It, like the three continued requests, is in Centre South Township, near the county lake.

Lyle Isaac is applying for a rezoning from agricultural to rural residential for part of the northeast quarter-section of 36-19-1 in Lehigh Township.

Off-agenda items also may be discussed. The meeting is open to the public.
